Before you travel
- Fly into Cairo International Airport (CAI); the New Administrative Capital is about an hour's drive.
- Most guests can pick up a visa on arrival or an easy e-visa online; do check your country's requirements.
- The currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP). Cards work nearly everywhere in hotels; a little cash is handy for the bazaar and a felucca ride.
- June evenings in Cairo are warm and golden, made for an outdoor celebration. Days are hot, so plan sightseeing for the mornings, exactly how we've timed things.
